Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day. We honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

And yet, the next big sale that you don’t want to miss is everywhere. It seems that every meaningful holiday and observance is hijacked by businesses who would rather make a sale than read the room. Trust me, I absolutely understand working towards building the top line. But at what cost? A social media upheaval? Getting cancelled? Disrespecting others?

Like I wrote in When Overconsumption Overpowers Gratitude, “there’s nothing wrong with a sale if you found an item you already were planning on purchasing and it is actually discounted and not listed under a retail price that was never real.”

Please enjoy the freedoms our forefathers fought and died for with your loved ones.
